A Guide on the Age-Old Art of How to Impress a Girl
You probably first started thinking about how to impress a girl when you were about five years old. You might have conquered the monkey bars or built her a sand castle, or done something incredibly out of character, like catch a frog and offer it to her. In highschool you might have joined the football team to get in her graces, or fallen all over your toes offering to carry her books for her.
The principle remains the same, although several years and bottles of acne cream have passed between those times and now. Learning how to impress a girl entails a certain amount of showmanship, though I don’t recommend offering a girl an amphibian in the middle of a bar on a Friday night. Instead, you’ve got to show her that you are a socially valuable man with epic conversation skills, but whose time is infinitely precious.
Thinking about how to talk to women and how to impress a girl can be a little nerve wracking, but the rewards are worth it. Your first goal is to give her social proof. This is important because there is nothing impressive about being the only guy in the corner, so drop the Lone Ranger act.
Talk to other people and allow her to notice. That’s the great thing about proving your social value; you start making an impact on a girl even from a safe distance. That way, when you try to make your move, it’s less likely that she’ll send you walking home with your tail between your legs.
Never apologize to a girl for taking up her time. For one thing, a lot of guys do that, and you don’t want to be labeled as “just one of those guys”. For another, even if it goes against some pretty deeply ingrained social protocol, apologizing to a girl for talking to her is like saying you’re not really worth her time.
How to Impress a Girl by your Communication Skills
Your conversation skills are key to mastering how to impress a girl. Remember that this girl may well have been approached by a lot of other guys with the same intentions as yours; your goal is to stand out. If you’re having trouble coming up with sweet pick up lines that are completely original, you can always put a new spin on old ones. For instance, instead of saying “You from around here, Miss?” you can always say, “You seem like a nice girl, you must not be from New Jersey”.
You can also try other unconventional and good pick up lines. Don’t be afraid to make her laugh. Pick up lines like “Hey, quick question. If you were to hire an Elvis impersonator for your birthday, would it be a young Elvis or a fat Elvis?” or “Hello. We need some advice. My friend here would like to know if he can get more girls with a crotch rocket or a Harley?” will catch her off guard, upping the chances of her actually talking to you.
Other good ways on how to impress a girl may come along when the conversation is up and running. You’re going to need to be able to carry a decent exchange, and this entails epic listening skills. It’s easy to keep a girl on her toes if you can read little hints and cues in what she’s saying. For example, if she says “My friend took me to Alaska last year, I loved the change”, this immediately opens up two new topics: a) what she loved about her trip to Alaska, and b) she used to live somewhere hot.

Remember, your goal is to show her what a great guy you are. Times have changed, but the art of how to impress a girl is still all about showmanship.
